Exhibitions
The "Collections" exhibition will have several incarnations as we work together and with different museums and venues taking inspiration from all sorts of collections. So far Hester, Charlotte and Josie have had their inaugural show at Masham Gallery (13th November - 31st December 2016), then on to Ryedale Folk Museum (27th May - 16th July 2017) & at Sunny Bank Mills, Farsley (21st April - 16th June 2018). The Three Peaks trail a couple of years later and then a break around the Covid pandemic.
Ryedale Folk Museum
We have had the pleasure of showing at Ryedale Folk Museum both in 2017 and 2025. In 2025 our theme connects with the museum, the geographical area we are in and our personal collections exploring the folklore of birds with the title Charms and Murmurings.
At Ryedale Folk Museum we have been privileged to be able to go behind the scenes and create work inspired by objects in their archives. Specifically we concentrated on the wallpaper collections and the enormous collection of Elizabethan glass fragments from the secret kilns on the moors surrounding the museum.
Sunny Bank Mills
Our next exhibition was at Sunny Bank Mills, Farsley (21st April - 16th June 2018). Sunnybank is an enormous mill complex still being converted from it's former use. As artists we were allowed to explore the wonderful archives there, the mill buildings and machinery, the outside areas that were used for growing plants for dyeing amongst many other things. The gallery here was huge and we were delighted to be able to invite a number of artists to join us, who are also taking inspiration from collections and the mill itself.
The artists who joined us at Sunnybank Mills were:- Sue Brown, Jennie McCall, Kate Bowles, Jane Bevan, Ann Povey & Joanna Wakefield.
